Customer Review: Solid Workhorse
Has been a solid performer for me for 18 months. Seems to use toner at a reasonable rate - I buy the recycled ones from Office Depot without a problem. As with most network printers, the web interface to configure it can be slow and limiting, and counter intuitive (hardware makers don’t usually make good software, and vice versa) but once I got it set up I’ve not really had to worry about it. First page out in under 10 seconds, good quality, speed as sold. Connected via ethernet to a switch with no issues at all.
Customer Review: Can crash - turn off and on to reboot
Printer works fine for me -printing things. My only complaint is every few months print jobs don’t do through, and I have to turn the printer off and on again. Then it will print my jobs. There aren’t any firmware updates from what tech support told me. Using it with Mac OS 10.4.11

I love this printer. It’s fast, toner life is amazingly long and the toner price is a lot lower than other competitors. Overall this network printer is the best value for your money. HP, Sharp are overpriced and worse in performance compared to comparable brother like this one.
I had both in the past. Both disappointed me badly.

This is the best Med-size Laser printer in the market. I was a big Hp fan. I own a small business and had the opportunity to try almost all med-size laser printers out there. This is by far the best printer ever. The quality o the product is amazing and the built is wonderful. I set it up in less than 10 minutes and was connected to the network in less than 15 min. The toner life is amazing and the speed is ipressive. This is by far the best med-size laser printer I’ve seen. Do not buy HP anymore. They lost their edge with bad quality printers released lately.

Extremely poor product. Finicky, expect lots of error messages, and annoying 3-beep error response to everything you’re trying to do.
I couldn’t figure it out initially and left it there for a few months. When I came back to it, the ink was all empty before I even got it to print once. After replacing the ink cartridges and finally printing, and not using it for the next month or so, I get the dreaded 3-beeps. My yellow ink needs replacement even though I’ve only printed a few pages, never printed in color. Heck I don’t even care about the color printing anymore, but it won’t even allow me to print a text document (in black) without replacing the damn yellow cartridge.

I bnought 2 of it form Eforcity. It works well in the end. The one of the first two cartridges did not print at all. Luckily the second one did. All in a good speedy service.

If you print anything that lays down a lot of ink you will get banding. I am extremely disappointed.

I picked this printer up at ffice epot yesterday and with some help because it weighs 64 pounds, got it home. Setup is very easy, even for someone without any experience with computer hardware. Just push a tab in, open the front, remove all the bright orange shipping things, pull out the drum unit, slide in the toner cartridges which match the letters (K into K, C into C, etc..), install the software, plug in the USB or Ethernet cable (which you supply yourself), and you are ready to print. Before you print, however, make sure you open the printer settings and configure it the way you want. Also access the printers menu and configure those. The DirectPrint option to print PDFs and JPG files from a USB drive directly is nice, but some USB drives will not work (Corsair Voyager will not). For the price it is an excellent printer, coupled with the fact that it comes with standard (not starter) toner cartriges, you can print hundreds of pages before you have to buy new toner.
